Who we are

Maranto Bakery (legal entity: Prime Foods LLC) operates this website at https://marantosbakery.com. Our bakery is located at 244 Pearl Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. This policy explains what data we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your rights over that data.

What data we collect

We collect only the information needed to respond to your inquiries, fulfill wholesale orders, and improve this site. Specifically:

  • Contact form data: your name, business name, email address, phone number, and the details of your message when you submit a form (contact, wholesale inquiry, newsletter signup, event interest, or location suggestion).
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, referring URL, and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting provider and analytics tools.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used by analytics and the optional chat widget (see the Cookies section below).

How we use your data

We use your information to:

  • Respond to inquiries, set up wholesale accounts, and provide quotes.
  • Send order confirmations, delivery updates, and service-related messages.
  • Send newsletters or promotional emails — only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

Third parties we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with service providers who help us run this site and our business:

  • Resend (email delivery and contact list) — receives your name, email, and any message content you submit through our forms.
  • Cloudflare (hosting and security) — automatically receives request metadata (IP address, headers) for content delivery and abuse prevention.
  • Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Maps) — receives aggregated, usually anonymized, usage data. Google Maps loads only on the Locations page.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — if enabled, tracks ad conversions. You can block this with standard ad-blocker or browser tracking-prevention settings.
  • Tidio (optional chat widget) — if enabled, processes chat conversations to provide customer support.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies for analytics and, optionally, the chat widget. Third-party scripts (Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Tidio) are deferred — they load only after 3 seconds or your first interaction with the page. You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not break the site but may affect the chat widget and analytics accuracy.

Data retention

We keep inquiry and contact data for as long as needed to serve you as a customer plus a reasonable period for recordkeeping (typically up to 7 years for tax and business records). Newsletter subscribers remain on our list until they unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months).

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete your data.
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time (use the unsubscribe link in any email).
  • Ask us to stop using your data for any specific purpose.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect your data with standard industry practices: HTTPS for all traffic, restricted access to form submissions, and reputable service providers (Cloudflare, Resend, Google) with their own strong security programs. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page. Material changes will be announced on our homepage or by email if you are on our contact list.
