As their pasta business grew, they handed bread-making to fellow Sicilians Frank and Sam Maranto. The brothers set up coal-fired brick ovens in a row home on Pearl Street and began baking Italian Vienna Bread, delivering door to door from wicker baskets. ### 1920s–30s — Feeding a Growing City As Baltimore grew, so did Maranto Bakery.
